Optimized processing of a narrow band astronomical image.
Made exclusively (no outsourcing) by Franck Bugnet, recognized astrophotographer and trainer.
The luminance is produced by the usage of an Ha narrow band filter, placed in front of a specialized astro CCD.
The color data is produced with SII and OIII filters.
By default, SII is mapped to red, Ha to green and OIII to blue (all other mappings are possible, please be specific)
Each Ha, SII, OIII component is most often the outcome of many individual shoots, aligned and compiled.
Colors are then balanced, to produce an esthetical and very impressive image.
As the individual RAW files are usually pre-processed with "dark", "bias" and "flat" master images, and compiled just after the acquisition, the pre-processing steps are not included in the standrad service, but proposed as addtional options.
Â
The pre-processing steps are: Images calibration (or reduce) and stacking. So the additional options are:
-Files calibration and stacking to be done
-Files are calibrated - Stacking to be done
Â
Before starting the processing itself, we always check the quality of the calibration, using the histogram.
In a quality issue is detected, we'll propose to you to either redo it (with some advises), either to let us do it for you.
In case the pre-processing is done by us, you will have lot of files to send. So we'll provide you with a private ftp upload server.
